The Mobile Wallet for Polkadot, Kusama and Parachains

Polkawallet is the go-to non-custodial mobile wallet for the Kusama and Polkadot ecosystems. Since Polkadot and Kusama will both scale up to have 100+ parachains connected to them, Polkawallet is configured a bit differently than single-chain wallets like MetaMask.

When you create an account on Polkawallet, you will generate different addresses for Polkadot, Kusama and each parachain. While these addresses may be visually different, they are all connected to the same account and controlled by the same seed phrase. Take a look at the video example below. The address under My Account 1 changes after each network is selected, but all these addresses are still tied to the same account. When you create your Polkawallet account, you will get a set of addresses even though you only created one account.

Step 1: Creating a Polkawallet Account

2) Click Create Account.

3) After reading the tips and warning, click next and OK. Be sure to write down the seed phrase in a secure location, and do not screenshot as these images can be access if your device is compromise.

4) You’ll then be greeted with the screen, which has the seed phrase for the wallet address generated for you - be sure to write the phrase down so you don’t forget it. Press next when complete.

5) You will now be prompted to input your seed phrase by clicking the words in the correct order, after which, press next.

6) The next screen will allow you to name your wallet, and also set a password to allow you to access it. Click Next when completed.

7) Your wallet is now set up! 🥳🎉🍾

Step 2: Connecting to a Network / Switching Addresses

You can determine which network you’re connected to by looking at the grey text under the account address. In the case of this screenshot, it says “Polkadot.”

1) Navigate to the main page and click on the wallet icon in the top left corner.

2) You'll then see a series of logos on the left side which correspond to different networks in the Dotsama ecosystem. Let's click on the Acala icon for example.

3) Click on the wallet name + address on the left side of the screen and you'll be met with a loading screen.

4) Once it has completed, press the back button and you will now be within the Acala platform, with your wallet connected.

1) Download the Polkawallet app through the for iOS devices or for Android devices.
